Culture in Taiwan
The Taiwan culture is a great hybrid mix of different cultures with influences from Confucianist Han Chinese, European, American, Japanese, local, global, and Taiwanese aborigines cultures. The traditional and modern understandings both find place in the Taiwan culture. The ongoing controversy with respect to the political status of Taiwan, has a great influence over the Taiwan’s culture.
This politics has lead to Taiwan’s culture reflecting mainly the Taiwanese and Chinese culture. Influences from both these cultures create the main framework of Taiwan’s culture. However, now, multiculturalism has found a place in the culture and culture of minorities are becoming a part of the main culture, thus changing the main framework of the Taiwan’s culture.
